10. 17 Again (2009) directed by Burr Steers

A comedy romance that follows Matthew Perry (star of Friends). His marriage failed, his kids don’t like him, and his job does not appreciate him. He gets a chance to change his life when he is miraculously transforms into a teenager (Zac Efron, star of Baywatch), but in trying to fix his past, he may be jeopardizing his present and future. It also stars Leslie Mann (star of Rio), Thomas Lennon (star of Reno 911!), Michelle Trachtenberg (star of Ice Princess), and Sterling Knight (star of Starstruck).

9. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003) directed by Donald Petrie

A romance comedy that follows Kate Hudson (star of Bride Wars) as she writes about how to get a man to leave you in 10 days. She goes to find a man she can use for the experiment and meets Matthew McConaughey (star of Dallas Buyers Club) who is so confident that he can make any woman fall in love with him in 10 days. With both of them working against each other, their plans backfire. It also stars Kathryn Hahn (star of Bad Moms), Thomas Lennon (star of 17 Again), and Michael Michele (star of New Jack City).

8. The Lucky One (2012) directed by Scott Hicks

A romance drama that follows Zac Efron (star of Baywatch) as he returns home from Iraq with the one thing he believes kept him alive: a photograph of a woman he does not even know. He learns the woman’s name and goes to meet her, eventually taking a job at her family-run kennel. A romance blooms, giving Efron hope that she could become more than just his good-luck charm. It also stars Taylor Schilling (star of Orange is the New Black), Blythe Danner (star of Meet the Parents), and Jay R. Ferguson.

7. Five Feet Apart (2019) directed by Justin Baldoni

A drama that follows Haley Lu Richardson (star of Split) as she spends most of her time in the hospital as a cystic fibrosis patient. Her life is full of routines and boundaries, which are put to the test when she meets Cole Sprouse (star of Riverdale). There is an instant spark, though restrictions dictate that they must maintain a safe distance between them. As their connection intensifies, so does the temptation to throw the rules out the window. It also stars Moises Arias (star of Hannah Montana).

6. One Hour Photo (2002) directed by Mark Romanek

A thriller drama that follows Robin Williams (star of Jumanji) running a one-hour photo developing lab in a small mall. He is a perfectionist and generous to his regular customers, including the Yorkins. Over the years, he has seen their family grow through their photographs, but when he sees evidence of the husband being unfaithful, coupled with a threat to his position, his already precarious mental state tips over the edge. It also stars Connie Nielsen (star of Wonder Woman), Michael Vartan (star of Monster-In-Law), and Gary Cole (star of Dodgeball).

5. 10 Things I Hate About You (1999) directed by Gil Junger

A romance comedy that follows Julia Stiles (star of Save the Last Dance), an abrasive teen. Unfortunately for her younger sister, house rules say that she cannot date until Stiles has a boyfriend, so strings are pulled to set her up for romance with Heath Ledger (star of The Dark Knight). It also stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt (star of Inception), Larisa Oleynik, David Krumholtz (star of The Santa Clause), Gabrielle Union (star of Bring It On), and Andrew Keegan (star of O).

4. Ocean’s 8 (2018) directed by Gary Ross

A comedy crime movie that follows Sandra Bullock (star of Bird Box) as she assembles an all-female team of thieves and specialists for a heist during the Met Gala. It also stars Anne Hathaway (star of The Princess Diaries), Cate Blanchett (star of Tar), Sarah Paulson (star of Run), Rihanna (Barbadian singer), Helena Bonham Carter (star of Corpse Bride), Awkwafina (star of Crazy Rich Asians), Mindy Kaling (star of The Office), and James Corden (show host).

3. 47 Meters Down: Uncaged (2019) directed by Johannes Roberts

An adventure survival movie that follows 4 teenagers that discover a sunken ruin of a Mayan city which is also a hunting ground for deadly great white sharks. With their air supply dwindling, the frightened girls must navigate the underwater labyrinth of claustrophobic caves and eerie tunnels in search of a way out. It stars Sophie Nelisse (star of The Book Thief), Corinne Foxx (star of Safety), Sistine Stallone, Brianne Tju (star of Unhuman), John Corbett (star of My Big Fat Greek Wedding), and Nia Long (star of Missing).

2. 13 Going on 30 (2004) directed by Gary Winick

A romance fantasy that follows a girl sick of the social structures of junior high when she is transformed into a grownup overnight when she wishes to be 30, fantasizing about being a well-adjusted adult. But adulthood, with its own set of challenges, is not as easy as it looks. It stars Jennifer Garner (star of Yes Day), Mark Ruffalo (star of Avengers), Christa B. Allen (star of Ghosts of Girlfriends Past), Judy Greer (star of 27 dresses), and Andy Serkis (star of The Batman).

  1. 21 (2008) directed by Robert Luketic

A drama that follows Jim Sturgess (star of Across the Universe), a brilliant student at MIT, who needs cash to pay his tuition. He joins a group of students who, under the leadership of professor Kevin Spacey (star of Baby Driver), use their math skills to win big in Las Vegas. Sturgess quickly realizes the stakes when he crosses paths with casino enforcer, Laurence Fishburne (star of The Matrix). It also stars Kate Bosworth (star of Blue Crush), Jacob Pitts (star of EuroTrip), Aaron Yoo (star of Disturbia), Liza Lapira star of The Equalizer), Josh Gad (star of Frozen), and Sam Golzari (star of American Dreamz).

      Hi Nicole! I really enjoy Julia Stiles, especially in this part. I feel her role does not feel forced. Plus, her and Heath Ledger definitely had great on screen chemistry!! 🙂
