Do you get tired of rewatching the same movies on Netflix over and over? Today I will be letting yall know 10 movie suggestions on Netflix that you might have not heard of! Give these movies a watch and let me know what you think in the comments! ❤

#10. Tau (2018) directed by Federico D’Alessandro

A science fiction thriller where Maika Monroe (star of It follows) is trapped inside a genuis’ smart house and to escape she must get past an artificial intellgience system named ‘Tau.’ This film is not only ominous, but imaginative and progressive in a new twist on the overused “artificial intelligence turned against humanity” trope. I was not sure what to expect of the movie when I first watched it, but I was intrigued by its suspensefulness and this humor aspect of Tau that I didn’t anticipate. Instead of an evil A.I., we get to see this human vibe from the A.I. that we don’t usually see in these technology advanced movies. Stars Gary Oldman (star of The Dark Knight) and Ed Skrein (star of Maleficent: Mistress of Evil).

#9. When We First Met (2018) directed by Ari Sandel

A romance comedy starring Adam DeVine (star of Pitch Perfect) and after spending a night with the girl of his dreams, they only become friends. He comes across a time machine, and he uses it to continously take it back to that night until he gets everything perfect. The movie at surface level is very cheeky and comical, but there is actually this underlying tone of a heartfelt storyline and a surprising moral lesson that is conveyed in a beautiful and hilarious story. It stars Alexandra Daddario (star of Baywatch), Robbie Arnell (star of The Duff), King Bach (Vine star), and Shelley Hennig.

#8. The Poison Rose (2019) directed by Francesco Cinquemani and George Gallo

A crime thriller where a LA private investigator, John Travolta (star of Grease), takes on a seemingly routine missing person case in his hometown of Galveston, Texas, where he is pulled into a complex web of crimes. The first thing that intrigued me was the star lineup of actors and the Southern atmosphere it had, then there was this intricate plot that started to unravel with so many twists and turns that kept me guessing and had me glued to my screen. It stars Famke Janssen (star of Taken) , Brendan Fraser (star of The Mummy), Morgan Freeman (star of The Shawshank Redemption), and Kat Graham (star of Vampire Diaries).

#7. Desperados (2020) directed by LP

A romance comedy starring Nasim Pedrad (star of Aladdin) as she rushes off to Mexico with her friends so she can erase a ranting email sent to her new man, before he has a chance to read it. It is very quirky and comical. It is not very complex, but a simple entertaining film to watch at least once. It not only shows the hardships of dating, but the hardships friendships go through as well while keeping our attention with a fun filled energy. It also stars Lamorne Morris (star of New Girl), Anna Camp (star of Pitch Perfect), Robbie Arnell (star of The Duff), Heather Graham (star of The Hangover), and Jessica Chaffin (star of Zoey 101).

#6. Awake (2021) directed by Mark Raso

A suspenseful movie starring Gina Rodriguez (star of Jane the Virgin) as a global hysteria ensues after a mysterious catastrophe wipes out all electronics and takes away humanity’s ability to sleep. Scientists race to find a cure before it eliminates the human race. I really enjoyed this new topic of insomnia and the apocalypse intertwined. It was captivating and entertaining, with a fast-paced plotline. It stars Ariana Greenblatt (star of Bad Moms), Lucius Hoyos, and Jennifer Jason Leigh (star of Atypical).

#5. Level 16 (2018) directed by Danishka Esterhazy

A sci-fi thriller where girls in a prison-like boarding school embark on a desperate search to uncover the awful truth behind their captivity. It is a slow-paced movie, but it still keeps you interested in the film with its constant suspense. It keeps you on the edge of your seat with a whole range of emotions as this movie takes us through a dystopian nightmare. It stars Katie Douglas (star of Ginny and Georgia), Kiana Maderia (star of Trinkets), and Sara Canning (star of The Vampire Diaries).

#4. Feel the Beat (2020) directed by Elissa Down

Feel the Beat is such an inspiring movie, and even that more entertaining if you enjoy the arts. It is a vibrant movie that compells us to go for our passions in life no matter what that may be. It also shows us that we will always end up where we are meant to be. So it definitely has a lot of life lessons ! But they demonstrate them in a way that is enthusiastic and filled with positivity. It stars Sofia Carson (star of Decendants), Wolfgang Novogratz, Eva Hauge, and Shaylee Mansfield (deaf actress).

#3. Circle (2015) directed by Aaron Hann and Mario Miscione

A horror thriller where 50 strangers face execution and have to pick one person among them to live. Now, this movie has been the only movie that is set in one place majority of the time and keeps me interested the entire time. It is very psychological and has an interesting concept, and personally I feel the movie itself says a lot about society today. It has sort of a slow burn, but it keeps you guessing. It is definitely a good watch and I recommend to see it at least once! Stars Michael Nardelli (star of The Collection), Carter Jenkins (star of After Ever Happy), and Lawrence Kao (star of Honey: Rise Up and Dance).

#2.Fractured (2019) directed by Brad Anderson

A psychological thriller where a man’s wife and daughter disappear after taking them to the hospital, and he becomes convinced that the hospital is hiding something. This movie is incredibly suspenseful with an eerie and mysterious vibe that delivers its thrills and keeps you watching until the movie is over. It has a rare concept that intrigues the viewer and does not disappoint. At the beginning, it seems very simple, but then we get swooped into a whirlwind that is ‘Fractured.’ Stars Sam Worthington (star of the Avatar franchise), Lily Rabe (star of American Horror Story), and Stephen Tobolowsky (star of Glee).

#1. Resort to Love (2021) directed by Steven Tsuchida

A romantic comedy where an aspiring pop star lands a gig at her ex-finance’s wedding at a luxurious island resort. She soon rediscovers her feelings, and tries to keep them a secret from the bride-to-be. This movie is very charming and playful, filled with a few life lessons regarding second chances and forgiveness. Plus, it has a beautiful scenery and amazing song choices throughout the movie. It is both funny and entertaining, and explores this concept of one’s passion which makes the movie very warm hearted. It stars Christina Milian (star of Bring It On: Fight to the Finish), Sinqua Walls (star of Shark Night), Jay Pharoah (American comedian), Christiani Pitts, and Alexander Hodge.

You’re right, I never heard of these, except for MAYBE “Tau”, which I think might be in my queue. Although Lord knows when I’ll ever get to it …
