Murder Mystery 2 (2023) is a sequel that follows Nick and Audrey Spitz, now private detectives of their own agency, as they land in the center of an international investigation when a friend is abducted. Available to watch on Netflix!

When this sequel was announced, I was honestly really excited to watch it because of how much I enjoyed the first one. This time around I felt it was better than the first one mainly in aspects such as the fierce fight scenes with Jennifer Aniston (star of Friends) and Adam Sandler (star of Grown Ups) and the vivid sceneries throughout the movie.

I really enjoyed how they connected it to the first movie, but still made it refreshing to see with the introduction of new characters. The lighthearted comedy flowed well throughout the movie and I enjoyed the intricate visuals in the fight scenes because I felt it added a lot of striking energy. I really enjoy Aniston and Sandler working together onscreen. I feel their friendship really shows in the movie with both the playful bickering and heartfelt scenes. The luminous settings throughout the movie were very different than the first and I think they were really beautiful. Also, the picture of culture implemented in this movie I felt was very lively. Both films are very lighthearted and fun, but still packs that concept of suspense and mystery that keeps you guessing who the antagonist is. Murder Mystery 2 was able to take the first movie and expand it to such a wider scene. I think it is really hard making sequels to be equal or better than the first, so I thought this one did a very good job. If you enjoy a whimsical comedy with takes in both the action and mystery genres, I would recommend it! It also stars Melanie Laurent (star of Now You See Me) , Mark Strong (star of Kingsman: The Secret Service), Kuhoo Verma, Adeel Akhtar (star of Murder Mystery), Enrique Arce, Jodie Turner-Smith (star of Queen & Slim), Zurin Villanueva, John Kani (star of Murder Mystery), Dany Boon (star of Murder Mystery), and Jillian Bell (star of Brittany Runs a Marathon).

Started watching but found it silly after only a few minutes. Maybe I’ll give it another try on another day.

Hi Janice! There is definitely silliness throughout the movie. If you can get past those spirts of the silly humor, I feel the movie gives enough mystery and suspense as well. But I can definitely understand your view! 🙂
